Highway Patrol: Southern Ohio woman dies after crash on I-90 in Lake County

MADISON TOWNSHIP -- A 60-year-old woman from Brown County has died after being ejected from her SUV in an early morning crash Friday.

Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say the woman was westbound on I-90 just after 6 a.m. when her SUV drifted off the ride side of the roadway. The vehicle came back onto the highway and overturned, rolling several times before stopping up against the median wall.

The driver, Jeannette Cassett of Hamersville, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. Troopers say she was not wearing her seatbelt.

Her passenger, 23-year-old Jonathon Cassett of Feesburg, survived but was trapped in the vehicle for a short time. He was taken by medical helicopter to the hospital.
