CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Police Department is investigating a shooting at a Greyhound bus that injured three passengers.

Just before 3 a.m. Monday morning, the driver of the bus reported hearing a smashing sound followed by screams from the passengers.

Police say at least one bullet struck the bus damaging two of the windows.

One passenger from Brooklyn, New York suffered cuts but refused treatment at the scene. A Fort Worth, Texas man was treated and released from Lutheran Hospital with injuries to his ear and back of his head. A third male was taken to St. Vincent Charity Hospital and left before being treated.

There were 26 passengers on the bus.

The incident happened in the westbound lanes of I-90 just after the bus entered the highway from E. 24th St.

The bus originated in Chicago and was heading to New York. Greyhound was able to send another bus and driver to the scene to take the remainder of the passengers to their final destinations.
