Flu shots: Where to go in Northeast Ohio

The flu season is top of mind this year, especially with the H1N1 (swine) flu virus making its rounds. 

Below is a list of links for county and city websites for more information on flu shots and clinics available in Northeast Ohio.

County: Cuyahoga

Cost: $30 for adults 19 and older; $12 for children 18 and younger.

County: Summit

The Summit County Department of Health will bill the following:

Health Plan-Hometown, Medicare, Summacare Secure, Summacare Commercial, Medicaid, Buckeye, Caresource, and Unison.

On Tuesday, October 27 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. the Summit County Health District will hold an H1N1 vaccine clinic at the Hudson Valley Chapel located at 750 W. Streetsboro Road in Hudson.

County: Lorain

Cost: $15 (and the H1N1 shot will be given at no cost)

Special Flu clinics are offered throughout the county in late October through November.

  • No appointment is needed
  • Bring shot record
  • There is a fee per immunization
  • Cash or check only, no credit or debit cards
  • Medicare or Medicaid accepted for some vaccines

County: Lake

Cost: $22

The Lake County General Health District can only bill traditional Medicare Part B.  If Medicare Part B is not your primary insurance (if you have any Medicare Advantage Plan such as but not restricted to Kaiser, Anthem, Aetna, Senior Advantage, Humana, etc.) then you will be asked to pay the fee for the vaccine of $22.00.
