Veterans returning home face tough economy

CLEVELAND -- On this Memorial Day, we remember veterans who served and sacrificed their lives. For those veterans who return home, they often face an uncertain future.

According to the Joint Economic Committee of the US Congress, Ohio's unemployment rate is 5.7 percent but the latest unemployment rate for post 9-11 veterans is at 11.8 percent.

"We come back and say, where are the jobs? What about the promises, it does hurt," says Iraqi war veteran Spencer Sharp.

More companies are now looking at hiring veterans and there is a campaign to raise awareness of the skills veterans provide to employers.
