Westlake | Man leans into stopped car with gun

WESTLAKE -- Police say a suspect armed with a small, black, semi-automatic handgun tried to take a driver's radar detector.

Just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, a Vermilion man had stopped for the traffic signal on Columbia Road at Hilliard Boulevard when the suspect leaned in the open passenger-side window and grabbed at the detector.

The driver then hit the gas and the suspect ran off eastbound on Hilliard.

The suspect is described as black, in his late 20s-early 30s,with a goatee, about 5'8' tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black ballcap and t-shirt and blue jeans.
