$250K bond set for Ohio school bomb threat suspect

PORT CLINTON, Ohio -- A judge has set bond at $250,000 for a man suspected of making a series of telephoned bomb threats to schools in northwestern Ohio.

Investigators have said that 22-year-old Charles Tingler acknowledged making threats against schools in Oak Harbor, Sandusky and Toledo and told police the calls this month were pranks that went too far.

Tingler, of Oak Harbor, is charged with inducing panic. His bond was set Monday in Ottawa County Municipal Court.

The clerk's office says he is expected to get a court-appointed attorney, but none was listed for him Monday in court records.

The county prosecutor tells the Port Clinton News-Herald that the case will be presented next month to a grand jury, which could consider more charges.
