Authorities working to identify body found in Tuscarawas River

NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO - The Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Office has a tentative identification of a body that was found in the Tuscarawas River.

Authorities say the body was reported missing to New Philadelphia police Sept. 26. The man's family said he was last seen Sept. 24. 

The family believes the clothing on the body possibly belonged to their loved one.

Authorities say there are no visible signs of foul play and an autopsy has yet to be performed. The sheriff's office hopes to use fingerprints or additional scientific methods to positively identify the man.
