Body found at Ashland County home identified as Stacey Stanley

Investigation into serial murders continues

ASHLAND, OHIO - Ashland Police have confirmed that one of the bodies found at an Ashland County home Tuesday is Stacey Stanley.

Two bodies were found at a home on Covert Court on Tuesday. A third body was found in Madison Township. Police say the three bodies are linked to suspect Shawn M. Grate, who remains in custody.

Stanley, 43, went missing from Huron County last week, according to police. She had last been seen at the BP Station on East Main and Union streets when she had a flat tire, the Mansfield News Journal reports.

The cause of death has not been determined.

The second body found at the same address has not been identified.

In a news release issued Wednesday afternoon, Richland County Prosecutor Bambi Couch Page gave details on the third body, which was found at a home in Madison Township on Park Avenue East.

Grate told authorities of the third body during an interview. He led them to the body, which was located in a wooded area near a ravine. The body has not been identified.
