Donald Trump posts statement on Ohio State attack

President elect Donald Trump posted a statement to Facebook Monday afternoon regarding the attack that occurred at The Ohio State University's main campus Monday morning.

Trump thanked first responders for their help in the incident.

The Associated Press reports that hospital officials say eight patients received from the scene suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, who was shot and killed by police, drove a vehicle into a crowd of pedestrians before exiting the car to wield a butcher knife.

Campus was placed on lockdown until about 11:30 a.m. and all classes were canceled for the remainder of the day.
