Erie County Sheriff searches for missing Vermilion Twp man

ERIE COUNTY, OHIO - The Erie County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing Vermilion Township man who hasn't been seen since Sunday, according to the Erie County Sheriff's report.

The family called and reported Michael Penton, 22, of Mason Road in Vermilion Township, according to the report. WKYC has requested a photo of the missing man and will post it when it is available.

According to authorities, they have brought out search dogs and a camera to try and locate Penton but have been unsuccessful.

Deputies say the area is wooded and, as of right now, there is no evidence of foul play.

According to the sheriff's report, Michael Penton left his keys, wallet, glasses, and cell phone in the house and Michael's vehicle was still in the driveway. Matthew Penton said he hadn't seen his brother since about 11 p.m. Sunday night.

Michael Penton was scheduled to return to work at his job at Yost Landscaping but never showed up.
