New sketch released of 1975 Ottawa County murder victim

FBI officials have released an updated composite sketch of a woman whose remains were found in a creek in 1975.

On Oct. 22, 1975, two hunters found a woman's body floating in Mud Creek. The woman's death was ruled as "questioned death." Authorities believe she had been dead 48-72 hours upon discovery.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office has yet to solve the case.

New technology has led to a new composite photo of the woman based on her remains.

Authorities say she is believed to have been 20 to 30 years old and about 5-foot-4, weighing between 140 to 150 pounds.

The woman had medium length brown-red brown and brown or hazel eyes. Her ears were pierced, but she was not wearing earrings at the time of her death. Her teeth had wide spaces and she had poor dental health. Evidence shows she was a smoker and had given birth to at least one child, possibly within a year prior to her death.

Authorities have also released a photo of the ring the woman was wearing.
