Pete Rose to help fundraise for his own statue

CINCINNATI - Cincinnati Reds legend Pete Rose will participate in Redsfest from Dec. 2-3, appearing twice at the annual festivities at the Duke Energy Convention Center.

Rose will attend in support of the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum’s Pete Rose Hit Collection, a fundraising initiative in which fans can buy signed baseballs individually associated with each of Rose’s 4,256 hits.

The money raised will go toward the bronze sculpture of Rose set to be unveiled at Great American Ball Park next summer.

Owners of each “hit” will get a chance to take a photo with Rose at the event. Many “hits” already can be purchased at redsmuseum.org.

Rose will also be introduced alongside current and former players at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, followed by a Q&A session with Rose at 6 p.m. Another Rose Q&A will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. Tickets can be purchased at Reds.com/Redsfest.
