Northeast Ohio is home to some of the state's safest communities, according to one website.
Real estate blog Movoto recently listed the 10 most secure spots in the Buckeye state, and six of those communities are right here in Northeast Ohio.
Coming in at No. 1 was the city of Hudson. Second place went to Solon.
Strongsville, North Ridgeville and Parma came in fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, and Stow was No. 9.
Movoto says it came up with its rankings by analyzing crime statistics, including murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, theft and vehicle theft.
On Hudson, the site boasts, "If you're looking for a place that's violence free, safe for your stuff and incredibly welcoming, you couldn't do better than Hudson."
It notes that Hudson had no rapes, murders or assaults reported in 2012 and had just nine robberies per 100,000 people and 104 burglaries per 100,000 people.
That translates into pretty low crime numbers for a city of 22,181, according to Movoto's count.
Other Ohio cities that made the top 10 include Upper Arlington (2nd), Mason (7th), Athens (8th) and Centerville (10th).
