A GoFundMe account has been created for 18-year-old Jayquon Tillman.
Tillman was fatally shot while attending a party near Kent State University late Friday evening.
According to the Portage County Sheriff's Office, they received a noise complaint for a party at a home located at 7263 State Route 43.
Upon arrival and speaking with the residents hosting the party, a gunshot was heard from inside the home.
People attending the party began to run out of the multi-family residence. Deputies discovered Jayquon Tillman, of Cleveland, had been shot.
He was taken to University Hospitals in Portage, where he was later pronounced dead.
Kalin Lee, 20, of Columbus was also injured in the shooting.
She was treated and released from Akron City Hospital.
Tillman was a sophomore at Eastern Michigan University and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
"He was a young man of standard, very ethical. He was funny. He was just a great guy. Everyone who met him learned to love him. He was just an all-around great brother," said one of Tillman's fraternity brothers during a vigil at EMU.
Tillman's fraternity expressed their grief on Instagram this weekend.T he Delta Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, posted:
"It hurts our hearts to have lost such a great young brother. We are blessed to say we got to share the Phi Nu Pi and the Delta Nu chapter with him. Our prayers and condolences to Brother Jayquon's family."
So far, no one has been arrested or charged in this case.
