Ravenna veteran receives $5,000 worth of groceries

On this Veterans Day, one local business is showing veterans the public does appreciate their service.

The family of David Medina, a former specialist in the U.S. Army, was surprised with $5,000 worth of groceries in Ravenna Saturday. The whole thing was put together by Eckrich, Marc's, and Operation Homefront—a non-profit organization for military families.

The gesture left David speechless.

"I definitely did not expect anything close to this," he said. "I'm blown away."

During David's service, he received several honors, including the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal.

He now lives in Ravenna with his wife and two children.
