Sawed-off shotgun used in Akron shooting

AKRON - Police say two men were arguing over a woman and one pulled out a sawed-off shotgun.

About 12:30 a.m. Wednesday police say they went to a shooting in the 1000 block of Peerless Avenue.  The victim, a man, 24, said he was shot by the suspect following an argument over a female friend. 

The victim was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Police found the suspect at his residence on Peerless Avenue. They arrested Aaron M. Mills, 26, and charged him with felonious assault, having weapons while under disability and possession of dangerous ordnance, according to the police report.

Officers recovered the sawed-off shotgun that was used in the shooting. Police noted that the victim was shot with bird shot.
