Arrest made in Perry Township clown threat

PERRY TOWNSHIP - A 12 year old is in custody on Monday night after threatening to "shoot up" one of the Perry Local Schools in Stark County.

The threat was made via Twitter using the account "Frown the Clown."

Police were notified of the threat at 9:40 a.m. on Monday.  After a day-long investigation, a 7th grader was arrested and charged with one count of inducing a panic, a 2nd degree felony.  The 12-year-old was booked into the Multi-County Juvenile Attention Center.

"I would like to impress upon parents to speak with your children about the importance of making good decisions and not to engage in this type of behavior," says Perry Twp. Police Chief Michael Pomesky.  "Parents need to take an active role in monitoring the social media accounts and activities of their children on electronic devices."
