Storms trigger power outages in NE Ohio

Strong afternoon storms and high winds triggered power outages across the NE Ohio area Saturday.

The FirstEnergy power outage map shows the highest number of customers without power by county.

As of Saturday night, here were some of the hardest hit areas and the number of customers affected:

Cuyahoga County  3,012 customers (with Brook Park, Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, North Olmsted, Parma and South Euclid being the hardest hit)

Lake County  170  customers (with Wickliffe being the hardest hit)

Mahoning County   1,133 customers (with Boardman Township the hardest hit)

Summit County  1,101 customers (with Akron and Stow being the hardest hit)
