Led by Ward 15 Councilman Matt Zone, the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization and neighbors, businesses, and organizations in the area have joined together to assist residents affected or displaced by the house explosion.

The City of Cleveland has offered all of the families emergency housing at the Cudell Rec Center as they continue looking for permanent housing.

Councilman Zone said, "During the midst of such a tragedy, it is wonderful to see the community rally to help families in need."

Besides housing, families need furniture, household furnishings, clothing, as well as monetary donations.

Anyone interested in making a contribution can mail checks to:

Detroit Shoreway

6516 Detroit Avenue, Suite 1

Cleveland, Ohio  44102

Or they can make a deposit at any Chase Bank in N.E. Ohio c/o the W. 83rd Explosion Relief Fund.
