The accident occurred in the 6200 block of Lake Cable Avenue between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday night.
James Jenkins of East Boulevard was believed to be walking south with his dog, a tan German Shepherd-mix, when a driver hit Jenkins and left the scene.
