On Tuesday, Jan. 17, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo debuted its first aye-aye, an animal steeped in superstition. Many islanders in its native land of Madagascar believe the aye-aye carries bad luck based on its eerie appearance. The aye-aye is a nocturnal, tree-dwelling creature seldom seen in its natural setting. It's now on display in the primate, cat and aquatics building.
