CLEVELAND -- The Grateful Dead not only had their own music.. They inspired their own culture.
Now the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is giving us a sneak peek at it's newest attraction, "Long Strange Trip," an unprecedented collection from the Grateful Dead. Deadheads, get ready.

The two-floor exhibit takes us through 30 years of history, including clothes that Jerry Garcia's wife Mountain Girl custom made.

When you first walk into the exhibit, you are met by lifesized cutouts of the band, then you begin your journey into time.
Clothes Jerry Garcia wore were altered by his wife Carolyn "Mountain Girl" Garcia is one of the first things you will see.
"Moutain girl added all these different things around the wrist and hanging off the side it was just a plain black shirt before that," said Curatorial Director Howard Kramer.
Original soundcheck list and orginal handwritten lyrics are the very next thing the public can look at.
Even a local tie of an orginal flyer is in the exhibit from the Richfeild Coliseum.
"Everything in here is completely hand-drawn. There is no rub-on letters. This is done entirely free hand," Kramer says, while showing artwork of flyers that were used to promote the band.
Handwritten melodies, like "Sugar Magnolia," and let's not forget the art that becamse the icons of the Dead head community.
Father Time may not fly in to start a new year any more but you can take a long, strange trip back in time when the Grateful Dead exhibit opens to the public on Thursday.
