LeBron homecoming preps last all night

AKRON -- It's a race against the clock as crews and volunteers set up for LeBron James' homecoming party. They didn't get started until after 9 p.m. on Thursday because they had to share the field with the University of Akron football players.

LeBRON'S HOMECOMING: What you need to know for Friday

Workers and volunteers started unloading trucks on the southeast side of the stadium. They brought out everything from chairs to video and audio equipment. They hauled all of it down a ramp and onto the field.

Crews plan to stay on the field until 2 a.m. Specifically "what" they're doing still remains a mystery. All they can say it that they are setting up for a larger-than-life field show.

"When you're in the stands you want to look down and anything you would normally see would look puny," said producer Mark Cheplowitz with Wizard of Ahs. "So, we have an extra large stage and we are doing special things so the audience really sees the majesty of this kind of project,"

Crews will return at 8 a.m. on Friday and work throughout the day until they are ready to welcome guests when the gates open.
