Lots of hype, few details about LeBron party

AKRON -- Akron is planning a city-wide party to welcome LeBron home. But despite the hype, there are not many details available.

After it was announced Monday night at city council, the news made headlines in the Akron Beacon Journal. From there it spread like wildfire on social media.

But there are very few details, not the date, or location or even if LeBron will be there.

The city is working with the LeBron James Family Foundation to plan the bash. They say it will depend on his NBA schedule.

Despite the lack of information, folks in Akron are excited about the upcoming party.

"I think it's great. It's good to have him back, good for business and good for the area and everybody loves him so I'm glad to have home back," said Bob Drew.

"Why not? They have parties for all kinds of things, so why not?" said Anna Adelman.

"I think they should. It's great to see the protocol son return to his birthplace. He's done a lot for the community and it's really going to be good for Akron," said Bob Marefka.

"I think it would be good just for the city itself. He was born here, raised here, it should be good," said Micky Cardon.

"I think it's a really good idea because he's a really good basketball player and he deserves it," said Tristan Jones.

Both the city and the foundation still need to meet and hammer out the details. They say it's just too early.
