AKRON -- A man wanted for murder and two counts of felonious assault, turned himself into the Summit County Jail around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Chauncy Travis, 27, of Akron is scheduled for an arraignment hearing Thursday June 26 at 9 a.m. in Akron Municipal Court
Police had been looking for Travis wanted in connection with a road rage incident that resulted in one person dying and two others assaulted.
Police say that, shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, Travis was involved in a road rage incident on Kelly Avenue and Rosemary Boulevard, with Tyler Shamburger, 18, of Akron.
Following an argument, police say Travis fired multiple shots at Shamburger's vehicle, striking Shamburger in the torso. Shamburger's vehicle then struck a utility pole.
Shamburger was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers, both boys who are 17 years old, in Shamburger's vehicle were not injured.
Travis then left the scene.
Travis is black, stands 6'1" tall and weighs 190 lbs. Travis was considered armed and extremely dangerous.
