MIDDLEFIELD, OHIO -

On Wednesday (April 12), the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of the Middlefield Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, seized about 41 “one pot” methamphetamine labs, numerous hazardous chemicals, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia from a home in Middlefield Village, according to a news release from the Geauga County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities executed the search warrant at 15900 Grove Street and arrested Richard A. Veres, 49, charging him with manufacturing of methamphetamine

The search warrant was the culmination of a two-month-long investigation into methamphetamine manufacturing occurring in the Middlefield area.

During the search of the apartment, investigators located approximately 41  "one-pot" methamphetamine labs, numerous hazardous chemicals, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Due to the volatility and danger of methamphetamine manufacturing process, the Middlefield Fire Department also assisted in standby efforts as investigators neutralized the hazardous waste at the scene.

Veres has appeared in Chardon Municipal Court and received a $50,000 cash/surety bond.
