DENVER -- A St. Louis man was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at Denver International Airport after he traveled to Denver with the intent to have sex with two children and their mother.
A Greeley undercover agent posed as a 37-year-old single mother of two minor daughters - ages 15 and 11. She began communicating with Darwin Gilbert Gowen, 61, who had expressed interest in having sex with her and her daughters.
The text and email conversations revealed Gowan's desires, including numerous disturbing phrases. He claimed to be widowed and looking for "naughty daughters ... who love to hook up with a kinky mom for mom-daughter fun."
When Gowan was confronted at DIA, and he admitted to the undercover agent his intention to have sex with the mom and her two daughters, he was arrested.
If convicted, Gowan faces more than 30 years in federal prison and up to a $250,000 fine for travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct. If convicted of attempted coercion and enticement, he faces at least 10 years in federal prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
