SOUTH AUSTRALIA STATE, Australia -- Scorching temperatures are making it difficult for Australian firefighters to put out massive wildfires raging across the country.
Dozens of buildings have been destroyed in the blazes.
Authorities were fortunate to have cooler temperatures this weekend.
That was good news for firefighters who battled the blazes in record breaking heat. The air temperature on Friday at one of the fire sites reached 108 degrees.
Despite a break in the weather, officials are warning the conditions are still favorable for new fires to ignite.
