WOODSTOCK, CT -- A castle built of stone is under construction in Woodstock, Connecticut. Its owner is Christopher Mark. We couldn't get through to him by phone. The castle has been under construction for the last six years and may have another few years to go.

Neighbor Kevin Douglas says "I haven't had any trouble with it. It's peculiar but I can't complain about it. Nobody's bothered me."

Neighbor George McColgan says "as far as I know he's not breaking any laws and he keeps to himself. There's construction noise every now and then."

Stone grinding noise every morning says another neighbor who won't go on camera. She also objects to sightseers parking on her property. They've heard rumors about the castle.

Neighbor Jack Woehrman says "He's not breaking a law and I'm from law enforcement originally and I say if it's legal do it."

Woodstock town officials got a tour from the builder just last Tuesday of the entire structure.

First Selectman Allen Walker says "it's actually five stories, I believe, it's like a tower-like thing so it was pretty, pretty impressive, beautiful veiw, of I think it's a thirty-acre pond out there."

The property is valued now at $2.7 million and Mark and his wife are adding to what they own.
