CANTON, Ohio (AP) -- An historic barn in northeast Ohio was destroyed by weekend arson.
The barn in Plain Township near Canton was built in the 1870's and was considered a prime example of a German-built barn with lots of ornamentation.
The barn was under consideration for renovation as part of a trail in the Stark County Park District. Damage from yesterday's fire was estimated at $150,00.
The fire also damaged utility lines and caused a power outage in the area.
There was no livestock in the barn at the time of the fire.
