Tuesday, Ohio voters turned down the latest plan for casino gambling in Ohio by almost a 2 to 1 margin. Backers of Issue 6, however, say they are not giving up.

Rick Lertzman and Brad Pressman say they have already begun exploring ways to put another gambling issue on the ballot next year.

They believe Ohioans are no longer fundamentally against gambling in the state. They think their particular plan was rejected because it did not include other parts of the state and questions about its tax benefits.

They say a new plan would likely involve casinos proposed at multiple locations in the state including Greater Cleveland.

They may seek support from other gambling companies who opposed one company getting a gambling monopoly under Issue 6.

They could propose setting up an Ohio Gaming Commission to establish rules and regulations.

They plan to have another petition drive resulting in another ballot issue next year.
