AKRON -- METRO RTA is showing off their new buses that were made possible by the $8.3 million they received in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds, or stimulus money.

Some of the money will be used to rehabilitate the bus garages, replace bus hoists, resurface the parking lot and offices at 416 Kenmore Boulevard.

The new buses include: Six MCI over- the-road coaches, four 40-foot low-floor gillig buses and Nine Ford Eldorado METRO SCAT buses.

The money will also be used for six new bus shelters and 105 new trash cans.
