MEDINA -- The Medina County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has filed five counts of animal cruelty against a Seville woman.
The charges against Barbara Guillermo were filed in Wadsworth Muncipal Court on Friday.
According to the Medina SPCA, a tip caller led investigators to Guillermo's property on Willow Road.
Investigators say Guillermo kept more than 20 dogs on her property. According to investigators, three puppies were found dead and two other dogs were removed with severe bite wounds that had been left untreated. The rest of the litter of puppies and their mother were also removed for medical care.
The Medina County SPCA is asking for help in finding foster homes for the surviving animals and for monetary donations to off set the costs of caring for them.
