CLARIDON TOWNSHIP -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol said a 41-year-old woman from Burton died after the H3 Hummer she was riding in crashed just after 6 a.m. Sunday morning while it was traveling southbound on Claridon Troy Road.

Her name has not been released, pending notification of her family.

She was a passenger in a 2006 H3 Hummer driven by Stephen Corbin, 55, of Chardon.

The Hummer drifted off the left side of the road and overturned, then came back onto the road and threw the unbelted woman from her seat, according to information from OSP Sgt. Brant Zemelka.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Corbin, who was wearing a seatbelt, was trapped in the vehicle for a short period of time.

He was flown to Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center for the non-threatening injuries he sustained.

The crash remains under investigation.
