STARK COUNTY -- A 15-year-old passenger has died after being ejected from a vehicle after a crash in Stark County's Osnaburg Township.

According to the Highway Patrol, the victim, Angela Baker of East Canton, was riding in a Ford Escort that was hit from behind by the driver of a Chevy Baretta on U.S. 30 shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

The impact pushed the Escort off the right side of the road and into a tree where it overturned. Angela was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Another teenage passenger in the back seat was treated and released for minor injuries.

The driver of the Escort, 57-year-old Cynthia Miner of East Canton, is hospitalized in serious condition.

Troopers say the driver of the other car continued heading west after the impact before traveling off the left side of the road and into a ditch.

The driver of the car, identified by troopers as 35-year-old Christine Faulkner of Canton, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Stark County Jail after being treated and released from the hospital.

Faulkner remains incarcerated on charges of OVI, driving under suspension, leaving the scene of an accident, aggravated vehicular assault and aggravated vehicular homicide.
