
AKRON -- A grocery store owner in Akron is recovery from injuries after exchanging gunfire with an armed suspect as he locked up his store.
According to police, 59-year-old Ali Ahmed, the owner of the Raymond Street Market had closed up the shop around 7:30 p.m.
As Ahmed was getting into his car a man approached him.
Both men fired shots and both were struck by bullets and taken to the hospital.
Ahmed's injuries were not life threatening. The suspect, identified by police as 29-year-old Timothy Grant of Illinois died. The medical examiner said in a release that Grant died during an apparent attempted robbery.
Police are investigating the incident.
