ELYRIA -- At 10:33 a.m. Sunday, Elyria police found the body of Logan Spradlin in the Black River.

The divers resumed operation Sunday at 8:00 a.m., according to Elyria Fire Chief Richard Benton.

Authorities say the 12-year-old slipped and hit his head while playing on the east side of the Black River early Saturday afternoon.

Logan's friend witnessed the accident and ran to find help.  Luckily, the fire department was holding an open house about a block away, so crews got to the scene quickly.

Half a dozen dive teams were called in to use sonar to try and spot Logan under water.  Rescue teams searched for hours on Saturday, but decided to suspend their search at nightfall.

Authorities say Logan is an eighth grader at Northwood Middle School.
