MANSFIELD -- Harmony House, a homeless shelter here, is about to open new housing that will provide homes for the formerly homeless.
"The first requirement will be that they have a job," said Ed Meehan, president of Harmony House's board of directors.
The homeless shelter is nearing completion of the renovation of a six-unit apartment building on West Fourth Street, near the shelter.
"These units will rent for as little as $200 per month," Meehan said, "well below market rents."
The 90-year-old brick structure had sat vacant for years. Harmony House volunteers and others updated it with a new front porch and railings, new furnaces, windows, roofing and more.
Two-bedroom apartments are one-story. Three bedroom units are two-story.
Harmony House is planning an open house for the rental units in the near future.
Anyone interested in renting one of the apartments should call Harmony House at 419-522-2273 for more information.
