Vermilion: Police, coroner identify shooting victim

VERMILION -- The Vermilion Police Department and the Lorain County Coroner's Office is investigating the death of a man found inside a home in the 2000 block of North Ridge Road in Vermilion.

Coroner Dr. Paul Matus states that the victim is Jeremy S. Simko, 36.

Matus declined to reveal any further details except to say that the incident is a shooting.

He and his staff, along with Vermilion Police and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, have been at the scene all day.

The Lorain County Coroner's office will conduct an autopsy and determine the cause and manner of death.
