CLEVELAND -- In New Orleans, an investigation is underway to identify the people who were shooting animals in the terrible days after Hurricane Katrina.
The attorney general in Louisiana has promised to investigate the killing of the animals by the local sheriff department in St. Bernard parish.
So far, no one has been prosecuted.
However, we?ve been told that the sheriff?s deputy who was caught shooting dogs in our report has been suspended.
On the bright side, more than 8,000 animals have been saved so far and the need for food and supplies continues.
