CLEVELAND -- Longtime Cleveland sportscaster Bruce Drennan was sentenced to prison Monday for filing false tax statements.

He'll spend 5 months in a federal prison and then 5 months under house arrest.

He admits that he illegally bet thousands of dollars daily on baseball, and didn't report any of his winnings.

He thanked all of his supporters, who wrote Federal Judge Donald Nugent. Drennan said he blames nobody but himself for his sentence.

He apologized to his family and friends, and thanked all those who wrote supportive letters to Federal Judge Donald Nugent.

Drennan will turn himself in to begin his prison sentence.

He hopes that after serving his time, he can resume sports casting in Cleveland.
