GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio (AP) -- After more than 60 years, a small amusement park in northeast Ohio will close for good when its summer season ends.
The family that owns Erieview Park in the Lake Erie resort village of Geneva-on-the-Lake says it plans to redevelop the property into a new business, but it?s not providing further details. Don Woodward says his grandfather opened Erieview as a park for children in 1945. Adult rides and waterslides were added starting in the 1980s.
Woodward says Erieview has been a good business and shutting it down is difficult. But he says his family believes it can do better.
Geneva-on-the-Lake is about 50 miles east of Cleveland.
