Celebrity chef Rachael Ray lives in the big apple, but has a soft spot for Cleveland.
"I'm a blue collar girl but you've got some fancy people in Cleveland, you've got some huge houses there, I've seen them," Ray said during an interview on the set of her new show.
Raised in rural upstate New York, Ray's "girl next door" appeal has made her a huge star on the food network and a big hit in Cleveland.
?I love Cleveland, Cleveland rocks, you know."
Ray's new daytime talk show, which debuts Monday at three, showcases not only her favorite recipes, but also her whole approach to life.
"We try and share a couple good recipes, tell a few good stories, people will see a ton of themselves on the show," explained Ray.
Ray also thinks Clevelanders will identify with the show.
"I think the type of programming we do would appeal to anyone, but I'm very comfortable in Cleveland, so maybe that's why people like to see us coming."
Ray will have an occasional celebrity on, like Oprah who's actually producing the show.
About her friend and mentor, Ray said "she's fabulous, a terrific partner, and always very supportive."
But mostly, it's everyday folks who will star in this show.
"When we have real people on, viewers, we like them to feel like celebrities, and roll out the red carpet.?
?I?m here to service people, I'm a waitress, I've never tried to sell anybody on anything, cause I don't think you can be all things to all people."
In this case, just being a good host may be the best recipe for success.
