LOS ANGELES (AP) -- They could?ve had 4,000 talking Jesus dolls, just in time for the holiday season. But Toys for Tots is taking a pass.
The four-foot-tall dolls were being offered to the charity by the Southern California company that makes them. The battery-powered doll quotes Bible verses.
But Toys for Tots won?t take them because of the religious nature. One official with the charity says they hand out toys based on a family?s financial need. He says they can?t risk ?sending a talking Jesus doll to a Jewish family or a Muslim family.?
What do you think? Should Toys for Tots have accepted the donation?
