CLEVELAND (AP) -- Five Ohio liberal arts colleges will get six million dollars to create programs aimed at helping students studying music and philosophy turn their degrees into moneymaking ventures.
The idea is to get liberal arts students to look at their passions from an entrepreneur's perspective.
The award money was announced yesterday by the Burton Morgan Foundation in Hudson and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City(Missouri).
The money is being divided up among Baldwin-Wallace College, Hiram College, Lake Erie College, Oberlin College and the College of Wooster.
Money for the pilot programs will be given over a five-year period.
Most plan to provide students with internships and connect them with local businesses.
