AURORA -- A northeast Ohio amusement park is dismantling one of its newest and most popular roller coasters.
Representatives of Geauga Lake say that the X-Flight coaster will be relocated to another park owned by parent company Cedar Fair. There are no plans to replace the steel coaster, which inverted riders to give them the sensation of soaring through the air.
The removal of the ride follows a disappointing year where attendance hovered at around 700,000, comparable with the previous two years.
Park spokesman Bryan Edwards says the owners continue to invest millions in Geauga Lake and aren't moving the ride because they've lost faith in the park.
