During lunch hour Monday, lots of people were dishing about Senator Hillary Clinton's announcement: "I'm in it, and I'm in it to win."
But is the country ready to elect a woman president? Opinions were as varied as the menu at Constantines Market on West 9th.
"I say go for it, a man has always been President, why not a woman," said Mary Woods.
Tom Moran said he's fed up with the status quo.
"At this point, it doesn't matter, a woman or man, I just want the best candidate."
Joe White, the head of Case Western's political science department, said gender will play a role, but won't be the deciding factor.
"I think the substance of her campaign is going to matter a lot more than her gender. So much depends on the condition of the times and the opposing candidate. Don't forget in 1992, a President who was a war hero, and won a war, lost to a candidate considered a draft dodger."
And while Hillary Clinton is the best known candidate, her own advisors admit she's got an image problem, and they're hoping the "softer, chattier" web version of Clinton will be an improvement.
