CLEVELAND -- Northeast Ohio will be one of many areas with the potential for quite a winter storm.
First, we'll deal with today's snow. Roads have been reported to be slushy and snow covered with slick spots. Although the snow won't add up to a whole lot (on the order of a dusting to around 1" or 2") it may still cause a few travel problems for Northeast Ohio. This snow is from a clipper system ... the bigger storm arrives tomorrow.
A winter storm warning has already been issued for Tuesday into Wednesday.
A storm system is organizing in the southern Plains and will be moving toward the Ohio Valley over the next 36 hours. As this storm moves toward us, we can expect light snow showers to develop tonight and intensify as we move through the morning hours. For tonight, I-76 will be the line of demarkation, with up to 1" of snow possible for the Greater Cleveland area and other points NORTH of I-76/US224. South of 76/224, there is the potential for 1"-3" of snow.
Through the day Tuesday the snow will continue to pick up, with the heaviest snow possible for the evening commute. There is also the chance for a snow and freezing rain mix across the area, but most likely for areas east of Mansfield to Akron to Ashtabula.
Snow totals for the area will likely exceed 4" to 8" or more.
This is still just a forecast, and it is important to remember this is a constantly changing situation. The speed and exact track of the storm will determine where and when the heaviest snow falls (and how much).

Stay tuned!
