LITCHFIELD -- 100 alpacas are found dead and more are still dying on a farm in Medina County.

The owners blame the feed maker, and now they're suing for millions.

"Magical Farms" is located in Litchfield.

It's one of the largest alpaca farms in the country.

The images are gruesome.

For months the owners of Magical Farms took home video of one dead alpaca after another.

The sick, they tried to nurse back to health, but few survived.

"To watch that happen, whether you love the animal or it's your business or both, it's a horrible thing to see," said owner Tripp Forstner.

Forstner lost 100-animals, and he didn't know why.

"You go through a whole bunch of scenarios in your head trying to figure out what would possibly be the cause of what's going on and it took a couple of days to figure it it was the feed," said Forstner.

Tripp says he sent the feed to Ohio State for testing.

He says it contained salinomycin which is used in chicken feed.

"It's highly toxic to alpacas, it should not have been in there, it being in there is what caused the problem," said Forstner.

Magical Farms has 16-hundred alpacas.

They range in price from 15-thousand to over a half million each.

Since they started dying 4-years ago, Tripp has lost up to 15-million dollars.

He blames Land O' Lakes Farmland Feed.

We tried contacting them -- but didn't get a response.

"I'd like to see someone take responsibility for what they've done," said Forstner.

Tripp says 30 farms have filed lawsuits.

They say it won't bring back the animals that died, but they're hoping it will help reimburse them for the investment they lost.

Tripp?s case is heading to federal court on Monday.

All of the other cases have been settled out of court.

"Magical Farms" says it bought the feed in Massillon.

The mill is owned by Land O' Lakes.
