DUNNELLON, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities are looking for a man they say stomped his father-in-law's pet Chihuahua to death.
A Marion County Sheriff's report says Frederick Wilkerson killed the dog after it bit him while he was on his father-in-law's property.
Lester Peer, the dog's owner, told deputies that Wilkerson had walked over to his home Tuesday evening. The report says the dog -- Gizmo -- bit Wilkerson on the leg, and he kicked the dog in the head.
The report says Wilkerson felt bad when the dog started to bleed and began stomping Gizmo to - quote - "put the dog out of its misery."
A sheriff's spokeswoman says an arrest warrant has been issued for Wilkerson on animal cruelty.
